Eckler Associates is a strategic advisory firm working with organizations to achieve higher performance in outsourcing and supply chain management. Jim Eckler is the President of Eckler Associates and is one of North America’s leading outsourcing experts with a specific focus in business strategy, supply chain management, and the healthcare industry. His background as a CEO and as a management consultant includes over 40 years of experience in the supply chain management field, specifically in strategy, corporate development, business transformation, mergers/acquisitions, labor relations, technology, and change management.

During his career Jim  led two significant outsourcing organizations,  As the first COO of Health Shared Services BC, Jim set the foundation for one of the largest and most successful shared services organizations in this space.  With a staff of over 1,800 and a strong mandate, they generated significant financial savings and improvements to the quality of the British Columbia healthcare system comprising over 100 hospitals.  He is also the former President and CEO of SCI Group Inc. SCI is a leading outsourcing services company which provides logistics services to major technology, health-care, and retail companies such as Bell Canada, Siemens, Amazon, Lowe’s, and Xerox. For 18 years prior to his corporate leadership positions, Jim was a management consultant as a partner with KPMG in Canada and a consultant with Booz Allen in the US.

Jim graduated in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and in Management Science from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a founding member, a Director, and has served as Interim CEO of the Center for Outsourcing Research and Education (CORE). He serves as a Director on several Boards and holds the ICD designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.  He is also a past chairman of the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Canada. As well, he is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants of Ontario. Jim has authored numerous articles on a broad range of supply chain topics and is the author of a textbook on transportation issued by the Purchasing Management Association of Canada. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences across North America and has lectured at Arizona State University, York University, McGill University, University of Toronto, and University of British Columbia.
